Custom corporate gifts are quoted in parts: delivery time is not universal
Item, decoration, packaging and delivery all shape a quote. Gift kits also need support behind any environmental claim.

A corporate gift may look like a single product, yet its final value combines the item, decoration, packaging and delivery. That is why there is no per-unit price that is comparable across printers: quantity, technique, final artwork, inventory and committed date all change.
Customization is gaining weight in the promotional-products sector. In an international supplier survey from September 2025, 34.5% reported increased demand for decoration or customization; this is an industry signal, not a measure of the Colombian market. PPAI’s report also illustrates why a proposal needs to describe every component.
For a company in Medellín, a useful gift is not defined by the object alone. The set must fit the occasion, the recipient and the way it will be presented. This is where custom corporate gifts and promotional products become a production project rather than an isolated catalog purchase.
What determines the price of custom corporate gifts?
Price is built from separate variables, not a fixed per-item rate. A quote makes sense when it identifies the item, customization, packaging, assembly and delivery; cost changes with quantity, technique, final artwork and inventory. Two proposals can only be compared when they describe the same scope.
A notebook, tumbler or box can start with similar items and end at different values. The decorated area, design colors, available technique and presentation type all alter the work. Item availability may also change by the production date.
So-called economical gifts often adjust by reducing components, simplifying decoration or concentrating the purchase in more units. That decision does not make every kit equivalent: the scope should show what each alternative includes and what remains outside it.

Why do corporate gift kits need considered presentation?
A kit works when its items and presentation share a reason for the recipient. In PPAI’s sample, 29.1% of suppliers reported growth in kits and 23.6% in retail-style packaging; these are international indications of interest in considered sets, not a Colombian demand figure.
Presentation is not an automatic accessory. A box can protect, organize or give context to a gift, but it also adds material, assembly and transport volume. The choice changes when a kit is handed out at an event, shipped to several cities or included in a year-end campaign.
Usefulness helps sustain coherence. A welcome set may bring together everyday objects; a Christmas set may favor the gesture and presentation. The best format depends on the audience, message and logistics, not on a universal combination of items.
What delivery date is reasonable for a corporate order?
A reasonable date depends on run size, finish, artwork approval, inventory and delivery. There is no universal timeline. In the cited survey, 30.4% of suppliers saw shorter order lead times and 60.7% saw them as stable; the quote should therefore state the date and project milestones in writing.
Final artwork is the file already approved for production. When a brand, name or composition changes after that approval, scheduling may change with it. A delivery date is clearer when the approval that is required, and its timing, are specified as well.
Christmas orders bring buying decisions, customization and dispatch into the same period. Defining the kit early allows inventory and presentation alternatives to be reviewed without turning a sales promise into a timeline that does not fit the project.
How is an environmental claim supported for a gift or its packaging?
An environmental claim needs to match the specific item or packaging and have applicable support. Colombia’s SIC has indicated that terms such as “recycled,” “biodegradable” or “sustainable” must be clear, truthful and verifiable. The material, stated percentage and current certificate, where one exists, belong in that conversation.
Support does not transfer automatically from one component to the whole kit. A box with an environmental attribute does not make the entire set sustainable, and a certification needs review for its currency and scope. Requesting specific documentation keeps a broad label from replacing evidence.

Resolution 1407 of 2018 sets recovery targets for packaging placed on the market by obligated producers: 18% in 2025 and 20% in 2026. Its applicability depends on who places the packaging on the market; it is not an automatic duty for every buyer or printer. The resolution sets out that framework.
What should be clear before approving a corporate gift?
Before approval, the proposal should show which item is delivered, how it is customized, how it is presented and when it is dispatched. That clarity helps compare options and reduces late changes. Price and delivery speed were the priorities most often reported by suppliers in PPAI’s sample: 77.2% and 75.4%, respectively.
Any environmental promise also needs separating from the rest of the commercial description. Law 2232 of 2022 lists single-use plastic products with its own timelines, list and exceptions; the condition of a package depends on the specific product, not on a broad “compliant” label.
A complete quote makes visible the choices that commonly alter the result: quantity, item, decoration, packaging, assembly, dispatch, artwork approval and date. It also lets procurement, marketing and logistics share the same reference before production begins. With that scope, corporate gifts stop being an uncertain collection of objects and become a delivery that can be assessed precisely.
